Women's studies faces the market test

Bitch magazine is in trouble. The 12-year-old quarterly publication, which bills itself as a feminist response to pulp culture and has a following among womens-studies scholars, says on its Web site that it needs $40,000 by October 15, or it will stop publishing. Thats what it costs, the editors say in a video posted on the site, to put out an issue of Bitch.

News of the magazines financial difficulty was posted today on a womens studies e-mail list. One member of the list said the magazines title originally offended her, but she said she had come to appreciate it, calling the publication courageous and refreshing.
Source. I suggest a bake sale.
