Miscellaneous and overheard
- Dave Downing wonders about the contradictions of shopping in bookstores for books on socialism. I recommend a copy of I, Pencil be given to the budding lefty.
- Prof. Janet Beihoffer sends me a note: "Today, Sunday, September 17, 2006 Jack Murtha (4 year active, 20+ year reservist Marine) was in Rosemount, MN to support Colleen (ethics queen, cut and run) Rowley against John Kline (25 year active, retired Marine, US Congressman). This is simply appalling." Yes, but hardly surprising.
- Kathy Kersten! I continue to argue that associations with Farrakhan isn't the issue, money from Awad is. I wish Kathy had spent more time on the latter, but at least she managed to get it mentioned.
- President Roy Saigo is leaving SCSU at the end of the academic year. He is still bragging about his efforts to rid the NCAA of
North DakotaNative American mascots.
"Hello, I'm from the Minnesota Poll, and we're conducting a survey of voter attitudes for the November election. Are you planning to vote?"
"Yes."
"And your party identification is?"
"Strong Republican"

"And you think Kennedy looks like a dope and will vote for Amy Klobuchar. Thank you very much and have a great day!"
